Sherrill Sajak is a little known figure in the life of Pat Sajak. Pat’s ex-wife, Sherrill never made rounds of the media and chose to lead a private life. On the contrary, Pat Sajak is best known as the host of the reality TV game show, Wheel of Fortune. An American television personality, former weatherman, and talk show host, Pat holds the record for serving the longest tenure as a game show host. He has been with Wheel of Fortune for 38 years and is signed until 2022. In this article, we will take a closer look at the wiki-bio of his first wife, Sherrill Sajak. 

Little known life:

Sherrill Sajak remains a complete mystery. Little is known about her early life and Sherrill phased out of media before Pat reached his true fame. Born in 1945, Sherrill found fame after her association with Pat. The pair met in Nashville, Tennessee, and dated for around a year before tying the knot in a small ceremony in 1979. Sherrill had already tied the knot before her marriage to Pat and had a son from her first marriage.

Divorce and disappearance:

While the pair enjoyed a happy married life for the first few years, things began to fall apart down the line. Unable to take it anymore, the pair separated in 1985 and finished the legal procedures for the divorce in 1986. Both Pat and Sherrill chose to maintain their silence after the divorce and refrained from saying anything about it. Many believed that Pat’s busy schedule didn’t allow him to spend sufficient time with Sherrill and it ultimately lead to divorce. 

Following the split, Pat continued his illustrious career and soon became one of the best TV hosts. On the other hand, Sherrill disappeared from the media and was rarely seen thereafter. 

A bit on Pat Sajak:

Born on the 26th of October, 1946, Pat Sajak was born to Joyce Helen (Brandecka) and Leonard Anthony Sajdak. His father died early on in his life, and his mother tied the knot to Walter Backal. Following his graduation, Pat joined the U.S. Army as a disc jockey and served during the Vietnam War for the American Forces Vietnam Network. During his time in Vietnam, Pat hosted the Dawn Buster radio show and borrowed the signature phrase “Good Morning Vietnam!” for 14 months. 

After DJing for a while, Pat Landed the role of the host on the game show, Wheels of Fortune. He hosted both the daytime (NBC) and syndicated evening versions of the show. While the evening version lasted for six years from 1983 to 1989, the daytime version has since continued. When Pat returned for the show in 2018/19, he became the longest-running host of any game show, having hosted the show for 38 years and 198 days. He is signed with the show until 2022. 

After the divorce:

Following his divorce to Sherrill, Pat tied the knot with Lesly Brown Sajak. As of 2020, the pair have two children, Patrick Michael James Sajak (September 22, 1990), and Maggie Marie Sajak (January 5, 1995). The family of four lives in Severna Park, Maryland.
