Matthew Jay Povich[Maury Povich son]: Wiki-Bio, parents, biological parents?

The Povich family has a strong history of journalism. Maury Povich is the best known of the lot who rose to fame for hosting the tabloid talk show, Maury. His father Shirley Povich was an American sports columnist and reporter for The Washington Post, and his sister, Lynn Povich has spent more than 40-years in the new business. Maury even married into journalism as his wife Connie Chung has worked as an anchor and reporter for the U.S. television news networks NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, and MSNBC. While many thought that the family trend would continue in the coming years, Matthew Jay Povich never followed the family’s legacy. In this article, we will take a closer look at the wiki-bio of Matthew Jay Povich.

Early Life:

Matthew Jay Povich was born at an unspecified date in the USA. Matthew was adopted by Maury and Connie and little is known about his biological life. He was adopted in 1995 and has been with the Poviches ever since. Maury and Connie came to adoption after failing to conceive a child. As they revealed on the 19th of June, 1995,

Little is known about Matthew and details on his early life are incredibly scarce to come by. The 25-year old is rarely seen alongside his parents and prefers to keep his comings and goings silent. Even though Matthew was born to celebrity parents, both Maury and Connie have tried their best to give Matthew a normal life. On the other hand, the duo spent most of their time in front of the camera.

Father: Maury Povich

Maury Povich was born on the 17th of January, 1939, to Ethyl and Shirley Povich. Best known for his tabloid talk show, Maury, Maury Povich began his career as a radio reporter at the WWDC. Maury’s first taste of fame came in the late 1980s when he gained national fame as the host of tabloid infotainment TV show A Current Affair. The show was based at Fox’s New York flagship station WNYW and was well-received by fans and critics alike. After leaving A Current Affair in September of 1991, Maury began hosting The Maury Povich Show. In 1998, the show was taken over by Studios USA, who simply named Maury. While his professional career slowed down after that, Maury still had a few good runs with several shows. Before tying the knot with Connie Chung, Maury was married to Phyllis Minkoff. The pair stayed together from 1962 to 1979 and had two daughters, Susan Anne and Amy Joyce Povich.

In 1984, Maury tied the knot to news anchor Connie Chung. Like Maury, Connie is known for her works as a news anchor with several networks including NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, and MSNBC. Connie broke new grounds as a female news anchor and became the second female to co-anchor a network newscast as part of CBS Evening News. Connie and Maury met during their time at WTTGand have been together ever since.
