Early Life:

Erin McGathy was born on the 5th of December, 1985, in Japan. Her father worked as a preacher in Japan but later moved with his family to San Diego. Raised in San Diego, Erin developed an early interest in improvisational comedy and joined the Upright Citizens Brigade, and began working on improvisational comedy while still at high school.

After learning the ins and outs of improvisational comedy, Erin began working alongside Upright Citizens Brigade in theatres. She began her work as a comic in around 2007 and later lead several projects of her own. In 2010, Erin debuted a solo show entitled, This Feels Terrible. While the show first premiered at UCB, it was later converted into a podcast where Erin talked about comedians and friends about their relationships. Over the years, several stars like Marc Maron, Dan Harmon, Wayne Federman, and Rob Schrab, have graced the show.

Alongside her work on This Feels Terrible, Erin was also a regular guest member and “comptroller” on the Harmontown podcast. A regular character on the show’s Dungeons & Dragons segment, Erin was eventually cast on the spin-off animated series from Seeso, Harmonquest.
Human Conversation is the latest in line of podcasts Erin has worked on. The podcast began in March 2015 and Erin co-hosted the podcast alongside comedian Wayne Federman. The podcast featured the comic duo talking about several off-delightful and meandering topics, without the aid of technology.

Apart from her work in podcasts, Erin has also made a few on-screen appearances. In 2014, Erin served as the narrator for Drunk History and also appeared in Harmtown the same year. The next year saw Erin made an appearance in Community and she is currently working on HarmonQuest.

Personal Relationship:

Erin was married to Dan Harmon but the pair’s relationship lasted only for a year. The pair met on the Harmontown podcast and began dating soon after. The pair got engaged on the shores of Loch Ness on the 28th of December 2013 and tied the knot at Los Angeles Natural History Museum on the 15th of November 2014. While the pair had a good run, they called things off in October of 2015. Erin disclosed the news via a tweet which read,

“Sad to announce that @danharmon and I are divorcing. We ask that you respect our privacy as we discuss it openly on our respective podcasts.”

While Erin moved to Dublin, Ireland in January of 2016, Dan started a relationship with Cody Heller. As of now, Erin is presumed to be single and has not yet disclosed any new relationships.
