The eldest son of Troy Landry, Jacob has been following his father into the swamp ever since he was young. Over the years, Jacob has gathered all the skills necessary to become a skilled gator hunter. While he hunted with his father for the first few years, he split from his father to divide the work to make it a bit easier to fill the tags. Early Life:

Jacob Landry was born on the 27th of December, 1983, in Louisiana. Born to Troy Landry and Bernita Landry, he is the eldest son of Troy but is preceded by a stepbrother, Brandon, from his mother’s previous marriage. Jacob comes from a line of gator hunters and has his father to look up to. Like most gator hunters, he started young and followed his father around the swamp. Over the years, Jacob learned the tricks of the trade and started gator hunting on his own. 

Swamp People:

Similar to his father, he joined the cast of Swamp People right from the very first season. For the first two seasons, Jacob accompanied his father and linked to the swamp and worked as a deckhand for his father. He would also pilot the Ice Boat and would help when needed. However, when his brother Chase Landry decided to join the family business, Jacob split from his father and began hunting with his younger brother. A versatile gator hunter, Jacob adapts himself to several positions and has worked as a boat captain, deckhand, and co-captain alongside his father, Troy Landry. 

The 10th season of the series saw Jacob take to the swamp with the legendary gator hunter, Dusty Krum. While there is virtually no match for Dusty when it comes to hunting for snakes, his skills were put to test with gator hunting. Dusty never returned for the 11th season, and Jacob continued filling in the tags with his brother. Jacob is also involved in the production process of Swamp People and has also worked as an actor and assistant director in the horror movie Paranormal Extremes: Text Messages from the Dead(2015). 

A family man:

Jacob Landry is happily married to Lyndsi Landry. The pair met sometime during the early 2005 and got engaged in 2008. They tied the knot on the 7th of August, 2009, and have been together ever since. In their 11-years as a married couple, Jacob and Lyndsi have two baby boys. The eldest, Ridge Adam, was born in June 2011, whereas the younger, Kase, was born in June 2015. Akin to their father, both Kase and Ridge have taken to the swamp and are not afraid of gators. While Kase is too young to accompany his father, Ridge often goes out on hunting trips and is currently learning how to shoot.
