From his early days of procharged power to the twin-turbo set up he has now, Shawn Ellington has always focused on becoming the best racing car in the country. One of the starting cast members of the reality TV series, Street Outlaws, Shawn is on par with the Big Chief and is one of the fastest racers on the series. Early Life of Murder Nova:

Shawn Ellington was born on the 15th of November, 1977, in Merced, California. His family moved to Sayre Oklahoma in 1982, and his dad, Richard, established an auto body shop. During his early years, Shawn helped his father in the shop which ignited a passion for race cars. In around 2005, Shawn moved to Oklahoma City and purchased a car that would go on to terrorize racing tracks as the Murder Nova.

Street Outlaws and relationship with Big Chief:

Shawn first appeared on the street racing scene in 2003 and was soon crowned as the “King of the Street”. He held the title for a total of three years before Daddy Dave and JJ Da Boss showed up on the track. Even after handing his tittle to Daddy Dave, Shawn continued his fabulous run and continued his run as one of the top racers in the country.

While Shawn was respected by racers around the nation, he formed a special partnership with Justin Shearer, aka Big Chief. The duo established an automotive shop, Midwest Street Cars. The pair also hosted a show entitled, The Chief and Shawn Show, where they talk about their lives on the street.

While Shawn and Justin shared an amazing relationship, the pair called things off in 2019 and decided to go separate ways. Following the split, Jason established 187 Customs and decided to go his separate way. While there were several rumors of a ruining relationship between the pair, Shawn revealed that it was not so.

“Basically, right now, we’re kind of going separate ways. Chief is doing the No Prep Kings deal. I’m sticking around here, mainly waiting for the streets, testing the car, and it gets complicated. So it was just time for me to start my own thing, and do what makes me happy.”

Personal Life:

Shawn Ellington is married to his long-time girlfriend, Erin. The pair met sometime during the early 2000s and tied the knot in the winter of 2005. The pair had a son, Aiden, after a year of their marriage on the 8th of February, 2006. Aiden shares his father’s passion for street racing and loves to help around the shop.

A veteran racer, Shawn has raced in all forms of drag racing including the street, prep, no prep, radials, and many more. But his love for street triumphs all other forms of racing. Shawn is also featured in the latest version of the street outlaws PS4 game and is a part of the mobile game, Dog Slammers 2.
