Zak Catchem is no stranger to fishing. A lifelong fisherman, Zak operates a YouTube channel entitled, Catch Em All Fishing. Inspired by the Pokémon tagline, “Gotta Catch Em All”, Zak is set on a similar adventure of catching new and unique fishes. With over 3.27 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, Zak is not alone in his endeavors. His experience in fishing signed when Zak was invited by his friend Joey Edgar to go gator hunting. After finding himself short of a deckhand, Joey invited Zak to come with him just days before the gator hunting season was scheduled to start. But Zak wasted no time in taking up the offer and joined Joey for the 11th season of the reality TV series, Swamp People.
Zak Bagby was born on the 1st of November 1990 in Florida, USA. Born and raised by father William A Bagby and mother Melinda D Bagby in Florida, Zak shares an Indian descent on his father’s side. Zak fell in love with fishing from a very young age and would often tag along with his father. In 2004, a 14-year-old Zak bagged the winners’ medal in the junior fishing competition hosted by The International Game Fish Association. Even though Zak has risen to worldwide fame with fishing, details on his early life have never been revealed to the media.
After graduating high school, Zak continued fishing and decided to broadcast his adventures to the rest of the world. In 2016, Zak joined YouTube with a channel entitled, Catch Em All Fishing. The channel name was inspired by the Pokemon tagline, ‘Gotta Catch Em All’. Like Ash in the Pokemon series, Zak aims to catch all kinds of fish out in the world. He joined YouTube on the 6th of April, 2016, and has gathered over 3.37 million followers to date. His videos have also been viewed more than 768 million times. Inspired by the success of his first channel, Zak started a second channel under the name, Zak Catch Em SHORTS. He started the channel on the 3rd of September, 2017, and has gathered over 58.6 thousand followers.
Joining Swamp People:
A lifelong fisherman, Zak had never really hunted in the truest meaning of the word. So, when his friend Joey Edgar invited Zak as a deckhand on his boat for the newest season of Swamp People, Zak complied. A sharp-shooter, Zak had to learn the tricks of the trade the hard way and had an okay 10th season. However, Zak returned for the 11th season of the show and did considerably well.
A man of few words, Zak doesn’t like discussing his personal life on camera. As a result, very little is known about Zak’s relationships. While his past relationships have been a secret, Zak is currently dating an Instagram model, Selena. The pair have been together for a while and Selena can be seen on Zak’s videos now and then. While the pair do not seem to be engaged, they love posting pictures of each other on Instagram.
