Willie Edwards Wiki-bio, Career on Swamp, family tragedy and Net worth

The son of veteran swamper, Junior Edwards, Willie Edwards was always going to follow his father into the swamp. Born and raised in the swamp, Willie has been gator hunting all his life. From following his father around to heading out solo, Willie has come a long way from his early days as a gator hunter. His resolve only strengthened after he lost his brother to an unfortunate accident. A regular cast member of the reality TV series, Swamp People, Willie has been making regular appearances on the series right from the first season. In this article, we will take a closer look at the wiki-bio of Willie Edwards.

Early Life:

Not much is known about Willie’s early life. Born to Junior Edwards and Theresa Edwards, Willie spent most of his early life alongside his brother Randy Edwards in Louisiana. While details on Willie’s age have never been revealed to the media, he is estimated to be nearing his mid-30s. A family of orthodox hunters, the Edwards rely on nothing but the hook for bringing in gators. Willie learned the family technique from a very young age and was soon helping his father bring home the big guns.

Setting out to the swamp:

Willie set out to the swamp alongside his father and younger brother, Randy. The two brothers shared an amazing relationship and made the perfect team. Willie first joined the cast of Swamp People in 2010, when his father was cast on the show. The only gator family in Bayou Sorrel, Louisiana, the Edwards had the place to themselves. He was cast alongside his father and brother for the first few seasons. Willie later separated from his father and decided to captain his own boat alongside his brother, Randy.

Losing his brother:

In 2018, Willie lost his younger brother Randy Edwards to a horrible car accident. The accident took place in September of 2018 when Andy’s Chevrolet Silverado hit a pole and flipped. Even though Randy was ejected from the car, he had sustained heavy injuries and was pronounced dead. Following Andy’s death, Willie and Junior released a statement from their official Facebook account which read,

“It is in deep sadness that I make this post. Junior and Theresa’s son, Willie’s brother, Randy passed away in a vehicle accident early this morning. Randy was 35. Please keep the Edwards family in your prayers and also please respect their privacy at this time.”

Continuing on:

At the end of the sixth season, Junior decided to retire from gator hunting and left the business to Willie. While Willie was accompanied by his brother every now and then, things were not the same after his death. After losing his brother to an unfortunate accident, Willie decided to set out on his own, with nothing but his trusted hook by his side. Since then, Willie has never taken anyone with him and is more than capable of bringing in the big guns on his own. Willie also conducts regular swamp tours that showcase the lifestyle of swampers.

Personal Life:

Willie is happily married to Sherrie Edwards, and the pair have been together for 19 years. The pair have three children, a daughter Michaela Edwards and two sons, Landon and William IV Edwards.
