Even though Ronnie Adams was late in making an appearance in Swamp People, he has been hunting for gators all his life. The 6-foot-5, 265 pounds native Louisianan, is a natural hunter who has been out in the swamp all his life. After learning the tricks of the trade from his grandfather, Ronnie set out to the swamp and began hunting for gators. While most gator hunters specialize in just hunting gators, Ronnie is a hunter year-round and is also huge on hunting hugs. The 10th season of Swamp People saw Ronnie pair up with Ashley, and their partnership continued well into the 11th season. Bits and pieces:

Not much is known about Ronnie’s early life. The reality star does most of his talking while hunting and is not a huge fan of interviews. He followed his grandfather into gator hunting and has been hunting gators since his early childhood. Born and raised in Violet, Louisiana, Ronnie comes from a family of gator hunters. Even though it was his grandfather who taught Ronnie the basics of gator hunting, he draws his biggest inspiration from his mother. In an interview with Monsters and Critics, Ronnie revealed,

“My mother is a beast! She’ll go by herself. I mean, she loves to get in the woods. I mean, just unreal that … My whole family though, but this is what we born into. This is what we are raised into.”

Swamp People and TV series:

While Ronnie has been fishing and hunting gators all his life, he diverted into hog hunting early on in his career. Ronnie owns a hog hunting company under the name of Elite Airboat Hog Hunting. It was during one of his bookings that Ronnie met up with, Ashley Jones and her husband. The trio got together instantly and Ronnie recommended Ashley to the producers of Swamp People. When Ashley was cast on the show, she enlisted the help of Ronnie and brought him on-board as the captain. A veteran gator hunter, it did not take long for Ronnie to brush up his skills and to begin hunting for the big guns. Ronnie and Ashley were cast on the 10th season of the series and have continued their partnership into the 11th season. 

Working on reality TV:

More of a lone wolf character, Ronnie had been hunting all his life, without having someone recording all of his movements on camera. So, when Ronnie was assigned an on-board cameraman, many thought it would cause problems for the man. On the contrary, Ronnie has been welcoming of the chance and doesn’t mind the camera. Talking about if the cameraman got in the way, Ronnie revealed,

“Well, you know, I wouldn’t say get in the way. Everything just happens so quick. You try to go through the motions and make sure everything’s perfect especially when you got filming crews and that. But if they get in the way, we just roll through it. And they gotta adjust to it and rock and roll.”

Personal Life:

Ronnie shares an amazing relationship with Ashley and treats her like his sister. On the other hand, Ronnie is engaged to his girlfriend, Jen Smith. While the pair have no kids of their own, Ronnie has a daughter, Hannah Adams, from his previous relationship, and Jen has two daughters, Sienna and Jade Allen, from hers.
